Many companies are setting email marketing aside with the new surge of social media marketing sweeping the Internet, but that could be a grave mistake. Not everyone is always on Twitter or Facebook, but most people always check their email. Email marketing is still alive and well, and is still the most powerful force in electronic media marketing. It is reported to be the leader as far as return on investment, lead generation and as a main source of communication and feedback from customers and suppliers.
Salesforce recently published a post in their blog with some enlightening statistics in regard to email marketing, and I would like to share that information, as I find it to be very interesting and useful:
